Boating, Fishing, and Water Sports in the Myrtle Beach Area

Here’s a not-very-closely-guarded secret...our coastal waters offer extraordinary opportunity to enjoy a multitude of watersporting adventures.

Fishing - For the fishing enthusiast, the opportunities and rewards are virtually boundless. From shoreline to the crystal blue waters of the Gulfstream some 60 miles offshore, the harvest - whether gathered from surf, pier, small craft or party boat - is bountiful. And whatever your pursuit may be, you'll find no better place to enjoy the sport of fishing than the Carolinas' Grand Strand coast.

Boating - With three inlets offering easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway serving as the western border of the Grand Strand, opportunities to enjoy boating are abundant. Whether your preference is standing at the helm of a small motor craft, maneuvering a sail in a brisk breeze, cruising on a sleek speedboat, discovering our marshes' live ecosystem, or simply sitting back and enjoying the sites, the boating devotee will find ample choice along our coastal and inshore waters.

Kayaking - There is no better way to absorb the natural sights and sounds of local wildlife living along our salt marsh creeks and rivers than by paddling a soundless kayak or canoe through these waters. The comfort and stability of the new kayaks, together with increasing fascination in wildlife observation and photography, make it a great family sport.

Jet Ski/Parasailing - Soaring high above the waves under a parasail canopy or skimming across the waves on a pair of jet skiis can be a breathtaking experience. And, it's a watersport with tremendous popularity that is readily available along our coast.

Scuba Diving - The ultimate water adventure is underwater. Just beyond the breakers lies excitement and beauty, as it is the resting place for many shipwrecks dating from both the Civil War and WWII. There are also artificial and natural Carolina reefs teeming with magnificent marine life just waiting to be explored.

Our water world welcomes you! The listings below are our suggested hosts of the endless watersport activities available along our gorgeous Strand...
