Day Tripping

A necessary addition to your vacation plans is a day just for “daytripping” around this region of the Carolinas, so abundant in history, natural beauty and sweet Southern charm. So, we’ve selected a few of our favorite daytrip spots to share with you.

– Located along the southeastern coast of North Carolina, the Cape Fear Coast includes Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach. From lovely gardens and museums to film studios and aquariums to boutique shopping and carriage tours, you’ll find a daytrip to this historic coast a true pleasure. Visit the Cape Fear Coast Visitors Center in Wilmington (located at Third and Princess Street) for free guides and maps.

Charleston, SC

– The sweet charm and genteel nature of the South seeps from the pores of this dignified city, and her history is sure to be deserving of great respect and admiration. Visitors will be delighted by the downtown area packed full of shopping, dining and unforgettable historical experiences. And a stop by the Charleston Visitor Center (located at 375 Meeting Street), will provide you with information on many more interesting areas of Charleston.

Georgetown, SC

– An historic seaport and South Carolina’s 3rd oldest city, Georgetown has much in store for the daytripper. There are several museums and points of interest in the city including the Rice Museum, the Kaminski House Museum, Hopsewee Plantation and Hampton Plantation, as well as over 60 historical buildings that can be seen via self-guided or carriage tours. Wilmington, NC
